Is iOS worth it? Long winded rant

So long time since any coherent post on here and I apologise for any fevered fans who have been itching for updates ( yeah right) this rant is a special one and actually a requested one at that.

Recently I joined the last generation on mobile technology by investing in a iPhone 3GS (at a fantastically reasonable price) so I took a punt and….well I’m not disappointed, although I have to say I’m not head over heels either.

As my current phone was a Nokia N95, which has been my phone of choice for new 5 yrs. strong, beautiful, trustworthy and did everything most so called “smartphones” are only begin it to catch up with, so any phone that would come would have to be a serious price of hardware to justify the stupid prices for phones nowerdays

And then cokes along the offer i couldn’t refuse. It’s weird, as even though it’s a very good device it lacks as a phone. Yes. The “iPhone” isn’t the best phone…

But if you would like a quick comparison of features between the two devices, you may be surprised.

Camera,
iPhone = poor and shitty
N95 = 5mp (Carl Ziez lens) [WIN*2]

Apps
iPhone [Win]

As a phone
Nokia [win]

Shape and looks
Nokia [Win]

Screen
iPhone [Win]

Keyboard
Nokia [Win]

Memory
Nokia [Win] [removable storage]

Charger
iPhone [win]

Battery
iPhone [win] [just about]

It’s weird as this is a very abridged version of the post I could write on this topic, think I’ll control myself here.

Although he iPhone is a great device, it’s not the giant leap forward in technology I was expecting, most of the features on the phone were available to me in a 5yr old phone that I didn’t have to be paranoid over every second of the day… But in truth it’s been a step up, although it means me searching 9gag 12hrs a day…

(and in case you were wondering, yes this was written from the iPhone) :D
